Tuscan Mining Geopark
The Geoparco delle Colline Metallifere – Tuscan Mining Geopark, in 2005 the Colline Metallifere Cooperative gained the management of the “Gateways of National Technological and Archaeological Park of Colline Metallifere” (Tuscan Mining Geopark) of Massa Marittima, Monterotondo, Montieri and Scarlino.The staff managing the “Gateways” of the Park attends touristic information about the Park, spreading literature and promotional material, booking guided tours and didactical activities. EXHIBITIONSSince the eighties, the Cooperative has collaborated several times to mount art, photo and archaeological exhibitions. Since August 2007, with the opening of Palazzo dell’ Abbondanza (Abundance Palace) as conference and exhibition room for contemporary art exhibitions, the Cooperative has managed it during the exhibitions’ opening time, entrusting with the task of opening/closing, ticket office, bookshop, information office, cleaning and care of the rooms, guided tours and didactical activities, organization of lectures, introductions and any other cultural activity related to the current exhibitions.
Among the exhibitions hosted in the Abundance Palace we can mention: Joke’r by Robert Combas, Iron by Igor Mitoraj, Dreams on the road by Giuliano Ghelli, Joie de vivre in Maremma By Niki de Saint Phalle.To each of them the Cooperative collaborated both with the mounting and the promotion.
